The armed forces will acquire additional F-35 fighter jets, anti-submarine warfare (ASW) frigates and maritime combat helicopters (NH-90s).
For the Royal Netherlands Air Force, the investments from The Hague specifically mean that the existing three F-35A squadrons will be expanded with 6 additional fighter aircraft. As a result, more aircraft can be ready for deployment, deployment can be sustained longer and the units will have more striking power.
