The New South Wales Ambulance Introduces PC-24 to its Aeromedical Operations
In 2021, Australia’s New South Wales Ambulance made a significant addition to its fleet by acquiring two cutting-edge PC-24 aircraft. This decision aimed to enhance the organization’s operational capabilities, particularly in providing aeromedical services to the vast expanse of New South Wales, covering an area of approximately 800,000 square kilometers.
The introduction of the PC-24 marks a milestone in the aeromedical industry, as it stands out as the world’s only Super Versatile Jet. It is projected that this advanced aircraft will facilitate around 800 flights and cater to approximately 6,500 patients during its inaugural year of service.
Sebastian Lip, the CEO of Pilatus Australia, expressed pride in the selection of the PC-24 by New South Wales Ambulance, emphasizing the aircraft’s proven track record in demanding aeromedical operations globally. Lip stated, “The PC-24 is highly regarded in the aeromedical field and has demonstrated exceptional performance in challenging conditions. We are honored that New South Wales Ambulance has entrusted our aircraft to save lives and support their community.”
Dr. Dominic Morgan, the NSW Ambulance Commissioner, highlighted the PC-24’s significance in improving aeromedical operations across vast distances in Australia. He mentioned, “The PC-24 enhances our aeromedical capabilities, particularly in addressing the extensive coverage required in Australia. It will serve as a valuable asset for our clinical staff and patients.”
