On Boxing Day 26 December 2024, pictures and video emerged of a new Chinese stealth aircraft, from Chengdu Factory featuring a unique configuration of three engines, diamond planform and no tail.
On 27 December we saw another tailless configuration Chinese next-generation fighter.
Both designs are tailless, meaning they do not have vertical stabilisers to help maintain control. Such aircraft are typically kept stable by computers that interpret the pilot’s control inputs.
