On 25 April 2024, IndiGo announced it has signed its first order for widebody aircraft in the airline’s history. After considering the Boeing B787 and the Airbus A350, IndiGo settled for the latter and placed a firm order for 30 A350-900s. The deal also includes purchase rights for 70 additional A350s.
Deliveries of its first widebody is scheduled for 2027. Closer to that, the airline will announce the exact configuration of the aircraft and where it plans to flying it to.
